The timing of the meal was the hallmark of a top-notch waiter working with an outstanding kitchen... no "collisions" between the various courses... time to savor one before getting on with the next... perfect temperature and presentation.
Awesome chef and kitchen! Our dinners were a delightful, refined preparation of food purchased from local, sustainable farms and the various components of each course worked together as a subtle orchestration of flavor and texture that made every bite extraordinary.

"What a find. The Inn is beautiful and the food was outstanding. We came upon the Inn through our travels from Chesapeake, VA to Pittsburgh PA. It is phenomenal. You must be a foodie. Every item is based on local produce.....fine dining to the max. One of the best restaurants around, bar none."
"PHENOMENAL!!!!! Our experience at the Ashby Inn was magnificent! We were married May 26, 2010 and selected the Ashby Inn for a quiet, cozy dinner We were warmly greeted by Neal and then seated so Michelle could take care of us. She was fabulous! She was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the entrees that were on the menu for that evening. Neal helped us select a white wine from Linden Vineyards to start off with and it was divine. He then paired our dinner entrees with a nice red wine also from Linden Vineyards. We chose buffalo crackers and fried pickles as appetizers and they were delectable. Our entrees were the red snapper and the beef loin. I can not even begin to describe how flavorful and just down right savory everything was!"

"The food and service at the Ashby Inn were outstanding. The quality of the ingredients, the skill of preparation, and the presentation were first rate. The food is a great combination of inventive and familiar. The rockfish and beef were really good. They also have a surprisingly large number of wines by the glass that are recommended for each course. After a long day touring wineries, we didn't feel like splitting a whole bottle and were very happy with the range of per glass choices. The staff was friendly and attentive, but didn't rush us at all."
